Podcast 2

This podcast is an introduction to the theory uses and gratifications. This theory will work as the theoretical framework for my research proposal. My goal for this podcast was to provide a little background information on the theory I will be using for my final project in a not-so-boring way. Although I did not go too in-depth in defining uses and gratifications, I do feel I provided the information necessary to at least understand the theory.
I feel a lot better after the completion of this podcast than I did after my introduction cast. I was much more comfortable in front of the camera, and the editing went a lot faster. I was really happy with the way this one turned out. We got a little creative with some of the shots and changed locations often; something I did not do with my first podcast. I also used some b-roll, also something that was not included in the first podcast.
It was especially fun to shoot the "Cloverfield" scene with us running up the stairs. I think you can sense that I am out of breathe for that next scene. I hope you guys enjoy the little video, thanks for watching.

Introduction Podcast

The first podcast was definitely an experience. Although it was fun to shoot, it was very time consuming to complete. For a simple three minute video it took over 2 hours to record the footage, and who knows how long to edit the thing. During the editing process I did realize a couple of things I need to do for the next podcast. First, it is a good idea to stop the camera in between takes rather than leaving it running. I had a number of long clips I had to go through on imovie. It is also a good idea to rehearse or at least have a script created of what I want to say. I am not a very good speaker on camera, so it took a lot of takes. Lastly I realized that it is hard to speak with a fake beard; don't think I will be dressing up for any future podcasts. Now that the first one is out of the way I am hoping that the next three will not take me as long to produce.
